Work & Stay in Tamraght

A surf village that quietly works as a base for builders, founders, and operators.

Updated 25 May 2026

Tamraght is a small surf village on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, twenty minutes north of Agadir airport. It is not a startup hub and does not pretend to be. What it is: a cheap, warm, well-connected base where you can ship work in the morning and be in the water by four.

This page is the short orientation. The detail lives in The Guide.

Why builders end up here

  • Cost. You can live well on a fraction of a European budget. The numbers are in our cost-of-living guide.
  • Time zone. Morocco sits close to UK/EU hours, so async work with Europe is painless.
  • Focus. There is very little to do except work and surf, which turns out to be the point.

Staying

Villas, guesthouses, and monthly rentals fill up for the winter season. Start with where to stay before you book the obvious option everyone else booked.

Working

There is no glass-tower coworking space, but there are cafes and a couple of rooms that work. See the coworking guide for what actually has reliable wifi.

Getting set up

Sort the airport transfer, a SIM, and a bike in your first day and the rest gets easy. The Guide covers each.
