What individual things cost
Day to day, Tamraght runs on cash. A card works at a couple of the bigger surf camps and one or two of the supermarkets, but the cafe you work from, the corner shop, the taxi and your landlord all want dirham in hand. Pull it out in Taghazout or Agadir, because the handful of machines in Tamraght can run dry on a busy weekend.

Rent: where the budget is won or lost
Local-market rents sit at 2,500-3,500 MAD (€225-320) for a studio and 3,500-5,000 MAD (€320-455) for a furnished one-bed. Airbnb runs two to four times that for the same flat, which is why the move almost everyone makes is to book a week or two online, then find the real price on the ground once they can knock on doors and ask around.
The cheap places rarely reach a website at all. They get passed around the Taghazout & Tamraght Nomads Facebook group, taped to a cafe noticeboard, or mentioned by whoever runs your surf camp. Where the €500 myth breaks. On paper a month here really can cost €500. In practice that month has no desk, no dinners out, and a shared room; most people keep it up for about two weeks. Budget the mid column and be pleasantly surprised, not the other way around.
The other big lines
A coworking desk runs about 1,200 MAD a month and is the line most worth keeping. Getting around is cheap: shared taxis cost 10 to 30 MAD a seat and a scooter runs 220+ MAD a day, only worth it if you ride most days. A week of surf lessons adds 250 to 400 MAD per group session, and a hammam and massage 350 to 585 MAD when the surf takes its toll.
